​Livermore’s main Civic Center Library is a modern design for a multipurpose structure that houses approximately 190,000 books and other documents and media, as well as meeting  rooms, art gallery, conference rooms, study rooms, computer areas for children and adults, wireless Internet access and printing, a large reading room, open study and seating areas, a café, and bookstore for supporting nonprofits. It also houses the Technical Services and Administration departments of the library.
